CHAPTER 3: ROCKIN' NOMAD COLLECTION
The starting point for Resort 2018 was Janis Joplin and her documentary Janis: Little Girl Blue. Stephanie was drawn to her individualism, forward-thinking perspective and personal style — and she infused that spirit with nomadic elements, from embroidered shawls and tasseled tunics to hand-beaded vests. Every piece is meant to be layered and mixed together, à la Janis. Pajama dressing is important: extra-long, wide-leg trousers paired with long men’s-inspired shirts or ruffled tops…Long kaftans also play a key role in several shapes. Accessories speak to the nomadic vibe, with neutral woven totes, shearling slides and evil eye sandals. The color palette is all about juxtaposition: cool, neutral hues mixed with rich, colorful tones…Navy with pink, black with saffron yellow, white with turquoise and black with amaranth purple.
